Real Client Stories: Transformations with Hair Extensions

I would share a couple of my own clients’ stories and what inspired them to get extensions and just kind of how that process looked for them.

I had this one client, Claire. I started doing her hair back in 2021. She had just had her third child and was experiencing postpartum hair loss.

And a lot of us can relate to that. I definitely can. I always lose, I lost quite a bit of hair with both of my children. And so you don't even realize it's happening. And then suddenly you're like, "Wow, I'm losing handfuls of hair every time I take a shower." Next thing you know, your hair is way more fine than you're used to.

She came to me looking for just some fullness, kind of just giving her hair some life back. You know, if you've had a kid before, you know that whole experience is just very, I don't know, you very much don't feel like yourself for quite some time. There's sort of an underbelly of not talking about things that happen after you have a kid that are not so positive. And one of those is just that feeling of not feeling like you're yourself or feeling displaced in your own body and much less trying to feel pretty and cute, right?

She came to me wanting to give her hair some life just like I said. And so extensions were the route that we were looking at. She wanted to add some length and some density. We did her consultation. If you watched my last video, you know what that process looked like. She came in for her installation and that day left with a big smile on her face. She told me at her first move of appointment that it was it took a little bit of time to get used to them. And at first, you're just kind of like, wow, what's going on? I have all this hair that I'm not used to having. But before long, she had, you know, created her own at home routine and was very comfortable with them. And still wears them to this day.

So that was a turnkey moment for her to just feel like herself again and feel more confident and just to feel pretty for the first time in a while. Because at the end of your pregnancy, for most people anyway, you don't feel super hot. You feel like a beached whale on a good day.

So I was very happy to be able to help her, you know, kind of turn the page in that journey with herself and feel pretty again.

Another one of my clients has long hair. But she's got some health issues and some health things that have just wreaked havoc on her hair in the past. Sarah had cancer years ago. And whenever you go through chemo for a lot of my clients that have experienced this, their hair texture dramatically changes. I know people who before chemo, they were brunette and after they were gray and curly.

This particular client post chemo, her hair came back in this really strange sort of crinkly texture. I don't know how to describe it other than that way. I've only ever seen this with chemo patients or post-chemo patients. But their hair texture goes from kind of what you think of the typical hair texture and then goes into this like crinkly sort of texture. You can feel it when you are playing with their hair or they tend to have a lot of wiry coarser hairs.

Her hair just does not behave the way that she was used to and it hits a certain point and doesn't want to grow past that. Our solution was one row of extensions just to give her some fullness, and helps give her a little bit of volume and her confidence just skyrockets.

The first client that I mentioned, we started off with three rows, three rows of what we felt like we needed and we did that for a very long time. I think we have two rows that we actively keep in our hair now. And then this other client, we just do the one. So it's very customizable. There are a lot of different reasons why you might want to get them.

The last client Susan has shorter hair, and she wants some fullness. She just wanted to change some of her colours without committing to hair colour. With extensions, you can do that. You can do chemical-free hair colour changes. And so that was what we opted for. She has a row and a half just to give her some length and density. Susan is older and her hair texture is obviously different having gone through hormonal changes and life changes.

I mean, even stress can really do a number on just the integrity of your hair. And so being that her hair has changed so much, this was our solution to help give her that fullness and bring that youthfulness back.

I've been doing her hair for about three years, and like, it just makes her feel so much better to have them in.

That is my favourite thing is at the end when you're sitting in front of the mirror and you're looking at your hair and you're like, wow, you know, this is just great.

Feeling yourself and me getting to experience being a part of that part of why you feel so confident like is my end.

I'll be all like, it's such a driving factor as to why I do this. So I wanted to share that with you guys.

These are three clients who all have completely different reasons for wanting extensions. They have different colours, different links, different age brackets, and different lifestyles, but extensions have been such a tool and helping them feel, you know, worlds better about themselves and therefore be, you know, their best self for everyone in their life.

You know, we know when we feel good on the inside, it extends out really in all areas of our life.

I hope that this kind of helps you give you some context and perspective as to what extensions might be able to do for you.
